In the heart of Guachipilín, a village once overlooked by the government, one thing changed everything: a church. Without a formal place of worship, the village lacked official recognition—no electricity, no clean water, and no voice.

UP Friends of Honduras partnered with local families to change that. Together, we built Guachipilín’s first church—a lasting space for worship, gathering, and hope. With the church came access to utilities and a stronger sense of identity for the village.

This project became the foundation for transformation. Today, that church continues to serve as a symbol of faith, unity, and progress.
